Weber Named to North Carolina Environmental Management Commission

Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Steven D. Weber has been named to the North Carolina Environmental Management Commission. Mr. Weber, the firm’s Environmental Law Practice Group Leader, was appointed to the 19-member Commission by the Speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives, Jim Black.

The Commission is responsible for adopting rules for the protection, preservation and enhancement of the State’s air and water resources. Its members represent a range of interests, including those from the fields of medicine, agriculture, engineering, fish and wildlife, groundwater, air, water pollution control, government and the general public.

“Steve Weber’s appointment to the Environmental Management Commission is a testament to his commitment and service to environmental matters impacting the State of North Carolina,” said William P. Steve Weber received his J.D. with great distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 1993 and his B.A., summa cum laude, from Spring Hill College in 1990. His practice focuses on environmental, administrative, and municipal law and class action litigation. He has broad experience in regulatory compliance matters, business transactions involving environmental issues and environmental litigation. Mr. Weber currently chairs the Mecklenburg County Air Quality Commission and the Mecklenburg Environmental Policy Coordinating Council.
