(RALEIGH, December 14, 2005) – The law firm of Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Catharine Biggs Arrowood has been elected as President-Elect of the Wake County Bar Association and the 10th Judicial Bar Association for 2006. Following normal progression, Ms. Arrowood will then serve as President of both organizations in 2007.
Ms. Arrowood, a partner in the firm’s Antitrust & Business Torts Practice Group, has thirty years of litigation and counseling experience with special emphasis on advising regulated businesses in the areas of technology, business tort, antitrust and internal corporate governance. She has been an active member of the Wake County Bar Association and 10th Judicial Bar Association since she was admitted to the North Carolina State Bar in 1976.

A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Ms. Arrowood was recently appointed to the College’s North Carolina State Committee and its International Committee. In addition, she is also a Neutral for the American Arbitration Association and the firm’s representative to CPR, the Center for Conflict Prevention and Resolution. Ms. Arrowood has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of alternative dispute resolution and business litigation and named to Business North Carolina magazine's "Legal Elite" in antitrust and litigation. Ms. Arrowood was a member of Parker Poe’s Management Committee from 1990 to 2001. Prior to joining the firm, she handled antitrust matters for the North Carolina Department of Justice and continues to work in that area both domestically and internationally.
Ms. Arrowood received her J.D., cum laude, in 1976 and her B.A., cum laude, in 1973 from Wake Forest University. She serves on the Law Board of Visitors at Wake Forest University, the College of Management Board at North Carolina State University and the Board of the North Carolina Symphony.
