ICDR Reappoints Catharine Arrowood to International Panel

(Raleigh, N.C.)—The International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), the international division of American Arbitration Association (AAA), has reappointed Parker Poe Partner Catharine Biggs Arrowood to its International Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators.

ICDR is one of the world’s leading providers of dispute resolution services to companies around the globe. Fewer than 600 ICDR panel members worldwide arbitrate new cases each year. More than 60 percent of the ICDR’s panel members are located outside the United States.

The result of an extensive review, the panel appointment factored in ICDR's existing caseload, the national diversity of parties and their counsel, and personal qualifications of candidates, including international expertise and reputation. Panel members attend regular continuing education programs and work with ICDR staff to further the appropriate use of international arbitration and ICDR procedures.

Ms. Arrowood has served on the AAA Panel of Commercial Arbitrators since 2003. Less than two percent of AAA commercial panel members also work on the ICDR panel.

Practicing law for more than 30 years, Ms. Arrowood focuses on resolution of  “bet the company” disputes. She is a partner in the Parker Poe Antitrust & Business Torts Practice Group and a leader in the Litigation Department’s International Arbitration Team.

Ms. Arrowood previously served as the President of the Wake County Bar Association and of the 10th Judicial District of the North Carolina State Bar and on the Firm’s management committee. She is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and currently chairs its International Committee. Ms. Arrowood has been named among the Best Lawyers in America, and to Business North Carolina’s “Legal Elite.” She earned a JD, cum laude, in 1976 and a BA, cum laude, in 1973 from Wake Forest University.
