(RALEIGH, N.C.)—Catharine Biggs Arrowood, a partner in Parker Poe’s Raleigh office, was elected to a second term as the Chair of the North Carolina Symphony Society Board of Trustees. Ms. Arrowood will work with other board members and Symphony staff to ensure the organization remains a vital and honored component of North Carolina's cultural life.

As Chair of the 60-person board, Ms. Arrowood will also preside over the Executive Committee, which is empowered to make most of the impactful and day-to-day decisions, including management selection and budget changes and approval. The Chair also oversees the Governance Committee, which nominates trustees and officers and fills vacancies of trustees and society board officers.

Ms. Arrowood litigates and arbitrates for both large and small businesses and has considerable experience with regulated companies. She has lectured and written on various aspects of complex litigation, including managing complex cases, federal civil procedure and arbitration and mediation. Ms. Arrowood chairs the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals Rules Advisory Committee and the International Committee of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

Ms. Arrowood has been a member of the Symphony Society Board of Trustees since 2003. Prior to her role as Chair, she served as Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Chair of the Finance Committee.
