Hankins Appointed to NC State Bar Disciplinary Hearing Commission

(CHARLOTTE, N.C.)Irvin W. “Hank” Hankins III, a partner with Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP in Charlotte, has been appointed to the Disciplinary Hearing Commission (DHC) of the North Carolina State Bar. The commission is a quasi-judicial body that adjudicates complaints about Bar members regarding alleged rules violations.

Mr. Hankins has practiced law for the last four decades and has extensive experience in state and federal courts. His clients have included public utilities, insurance companies, product manufacturers, chemical and textile companies, accounting firms and attorneys. He was Managing Partner of Parker Poe from 1986-2002 and has been the firm’s general counsel since 2002.

Mr. Hankins was president of the State Bar from 2007-2008 and chaired its Ethics Committee from 2001-2003; and Authorized Practice Committee from 1999-2000. He was a State Bar Councilor for Mecklenburg from 1997-2005. Mr. Hankins has served on the NC IOLTA Board of Trustees from 2009-2012 and as Board Chair in 2011-2012.
