(RALEIGH, N.C.) — Jason Herndon, an attorney in Parker Poe’s Raleigh office, was named to the board of directors of the Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter (LFANC). He will serve a six-year term.

LFANC works with local health professionals and volunteers to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education and advocacy. It is part of the national force devoted to finding a cure for all people affected by the disease. The NC chapter serves an estimated 45,000 people living with lupus in the state.

“Our Board of Directors is a statewide team of committed people who are passionate about our mission, driving positive change for those affected by lupus in North Carolina,” said Christine John-Fuller, President and CEO of LFANC. “We are excited to have the talents, experience and passion of Jason among our board team and appreciate his dedication in helping solve the cruel mystery of lupus.”

Mr. Herndon concentrates his practice primarily in construction litigation. He also represents clients in connection with landlord-tenant issues, debtor-creditor claims, class action defense and other commercial disputes. Mr. Herndon serves as chairman of the Lien and Bond Law Revision Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Construction Law Section. He’s a frequent speaker to industry groups on topics including mechanics’ liens, contract issues and delay claims.

In addition to his work with LFANC, Mr. Herndon serves on the Wake County Library Commission, an advisory board appointed by the Wake County Board of Commissioners, which handles matters of policy and program affecting the public library system.

Mr. Herndon earned his JD, with highest honors, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2005 and his BS, summa cum laude, from Appalachian State University in 2002.
