Parker Poe Receives Collaborative Award

(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) — Parker Poe and Duke Energy received the Mecklenburg County Bar’s Outstanding Collaborative Project Pro Bono Award.

The award is given to Mecklenburg County Bar (MCB) members who have contributed an extraordinary amount of pro bono services, provided a great impact for justice, developed innovative or enduring projects and/or demonstrated a dramatic improvement in its pro bono services.

Parker Poe and Duke Energy received the award for their combined work on criminal expunctions in North Carolina. Duke Energy and Parker Poe lawyers were able to assist more than 50 clients with expunctions in 2013.

The MCB was created in 1912 and serves the public and the Bar members in improving and preserving the administration of justice, and assists the North Carolina State Bar as described by statutory requirements.
