(CHARLESTON, S.C.) — Joined by corporate counsel from across South Carolina, the Charleston office enjoyed a private tour of Boeing’s manufacturing facility in North Charleston, SC.

In 2009, Boeing selected South Carolina to engineer and assemble its 787 Dreamliner aircraft.  Since that time, South Carolina has seen tremendous job growth in the aerospace industry, and Boeing has quickly emerged as one of the region’s largest employers.  Boeing’s new $1 billion investment is projected to double employment at its North Charleston plant and help South Carolina land more aircraft suppliers.

During the event, Boeing attorneys guided Parker Poe and Association of Corporate Counsel attorneys through the impressive and expansive 787 Dreamliner facility, where Boeing completes final assembly of its newest state-of-the-art passenger jet.  The 1.2-million-square foot facility began production in July 2011. Since that time, Boeing has restricted access to its facility, so this was truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the Parker Poe attorneys and their guests from the ACC.
