Bill Farthing Elected President of LSSP

(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) — William Farthing, a Partner in Parker Poe’s Charlotte office, was elected President of Legal Services of the Southern Piedmont (LSSP).

Legal Services of the Southern Piedmont ensures a full measure of justice for those in need. LSSP provides a wide range of civil legal assistance to eligible low-income persons in the Charlotte metropolitan area and west-central NC. To learn more about LSSP, please click here.

Mr. Farthing is a member of the Board of Directors for Legal Services of the Southern Piedmont as well as the Board of Advisors for the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he has served on the Board of Trustees, the Executive Committee, Finance Committee and the Board of Visitors for Johnson C. Smith University, where he currently serves as University Attorney. He also served for a decade on the Charlotte Repertory Theatre’s Board of Directors and Executive Committee. Mr. Farthing was recently named a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an honor limited to one third of one percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction.

Mr. Farthing received a JD, with honors, in 1974, and an AB in 1970 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a Morehead Scholar.
