Annette K. Ebright is a litigator practicing in the areas of Complex Civil Litigation, Government Investigations and White Collar Criminal Defense as well as Criminal and Regulatory Compliance related to anti-corruption, export and sanctions laws. Ms. Ebright works with clients operating in highly regulated industries, both in the U.S. and abroad. Ms. Ebright deals with investigations and litigation related to a variety of issues including contract disputes, fraud, U.S. banking laws and regulations, health care fraud, securities laws, export control laws, anti-corruption laws, public corruption, firearms laws and regulations, immigration fraud and the False Claims Act.
Sarah F. Hutchins practices in the area of commercial litigation, with a particular focus on competition law, and in the area of white collar crime investigation and defense. She works with clients in disputes involving business torts and antitrust claims, as well as other general commercial disputes. Ms. Hutchins has significant experience advising clients in large-scale government investigations and further advises clients on compliance with federal and state consumer privacy and protection laws. Ms. Hutchins’ practice includes management of large-scale electronic discovery matters and resolution of eDiscovery issues.
Morgan H. Rogers handles a wide variety of business disputes. He represents clients in all phases of litigation, including settlement, preliminary motions to dispose of the case, trial and appeal. Mr. Rogers concentrates on disputes related to corporate governance, real property, construction and development, trusts and estates, and various banking and lending disputes.
Mary Katherine H. Stukes focuses her practice on environmental matters. She works with manufacturing and commercial clients on a wide range of environmental permitting, compliance and remediation issues. She also advises clients on brownfields redevelopment and other real estate matters, as well as environmental aspects of corporate transactions and management of environmental risk for lending industry clients. In addition, Ms. Stukes represents clients in environmental litigation in federal, state and administrative courts.

Matthew H. Mall represents businesses in class actions and other civil litigation in federal and state courts, including the North Carolina Business Court. Mr. Mall also has experience representing companies in both domestic and international arbitration. He has handled disputes involving First Amendment issues, fraud, healthcare fraud, insurance agents, surety bonds, employee raiding, breach of contract, real estate broker commissions, and a variety of other issues. Recently, Mr. Mall’s practice has focused on nationwide class action defense and disputes involving breaches of contract, covenants not to compete, and the North Carolina Trade Secrets Act.
Katherine E. Ross represents businesses and local governments in regulatory matters and civil litigation. In her regulatory practice, Ms. Ross routinely advises clients on regulatory compliance matters, assists clients with obtaining permits, and represents clients in negotiations with local and state agencies. In her litigation practice, Ms. Ross represents clients in complex civil matters, focusing on real property disputes. Ms. Ross has obtained favorable bench and jury verdicts, and she works with clients to identify when it is worth fighting and when it makes business sense to resolve a matter without a judge or jury. With a focus on energy over the past several years, Ms. Ross has assisted developers of renewable energy facilities in developing over 3,000 megawatts of generation.
Caleb Thomas advises clients regarding creditors’ rights with a specific focus on asset-based lending and bankruptcy. His clients include local, regional and major national banks, as well as other institutional and individual lenders. Mr. Thomas has obtained favorable results for lenders in negotiated loan workouts, contested commercial foreclosures, receiverships and complex title disputes. He has successfully represented creditors in all phases of Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases including contested cash collateral matters, § 363 sales, motions for relief from stay, objections to plan confirmation and adversary proceeding prosecution and defense.

Laura F. Locklair focuses her practice on construction litigation, property disputes and complex commercial litigation. Ms. Locklair has successfully represented owners, developers, contractors, subcontractors, architects and engineers in connection with mediation, arbitration and litigation.
