Raleigh, NC – Parker Poe is pleased to announce that Renée Montgomery, partner in Parker Poe’s Health Care group, has been awarded the North Carolina Bar Association Health Law Section Distinguished Service Award. Established in 1993, the Distinguished Service Award recognizes the accomplishments of an attorney in the area of health law generally, and specifically, the Health Law Section of the North Carolina Bar Association.
For almost 40 years, Renée has represented national and regional health care providers and other health care-related organizations in administrative proceedings and regulatory matters before state and federal courts. She has been named by Woodward/White as a Best Lawyer in North Carolina in Health Law and Administrative Law (2007-2017) and a North Carolina Super Lawyer in Health Care (2006-2017).
Renée has been honored for her legal advice and dedication to clients and her work has been instrumental in developing important precedents in areas such as Certificate of Need law and Medicaid provider rights. Renée also has a long history of involvement in civic and community health care organizations, serving as president of the North Carolina Society of Health Care Attorneys, a member of the Bar Association’s Health Law and Administrative Law Section Counsels, and as pro bono counsel for the Epilepsy Foundation of North Carolina.
