Offices
Parker Poe opened the Columbia office in 1996 to meet the needs of South Carolina's capital city, providing general business and government legal services. With more than 716,000 residents throughout the Greater Metropolitan Columbia area, the region is home to several universities and colleges, including the University of South Carolina, Columbia College and South University.
The area offers a variety of recreational activities, such as boating, hiking and canoeing, as well as cultural opportunities, including music, theater, art and dance. Columbia's Riverbanks Zoo and Botanical Gardens consistently rank among the top ten zoological parks in the United States. Lake Murray, with its 50,000 acres of water, provides outdoor recreation to residents and visitors just northwest of the city.
Other points of interest include the South Carolina State Museum, the Columbia Museum of Art and the Congaree National Park, which features 25 miles of hiking trails, including the last significant tract of old-growth hardwood forest in the United States.
