Steve Hunting counseled clients on corporate expansions and relocations, complex commercial contracts, joint ventures, and information technology agreements and licenses. He had particular experience with energy, economic development, manufacturing, and information technology projects and transactions. His experience as in-house counsel at a large electric utility helped him provide practical, effective advice.
His energy clients included universities, electric utilities, electric power cooperatives, commercial and industrial companies, independent power producers, renewable energy developers, engineering companies, and contractors. He advised them on combined heat and power, energy storage, and microgrid projects, as well as electric generation projects involving biogas, biomass, landfill gas, solar, and wind.
Steve had assisted many companies establishing new or expanded facilities and had broad experience with incentives negotiations, site selection, and obtaining road, rail, and other infrastructure improvements to support projects. His economic development clients included Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Company, Nestlé Purina PetCare Company, Gilead Sciences, Linamar Corporation, GF Linamar, and Egger Wood Products.
Steve’s manufacturing clients included domestic and international companies that produce automotive components, resin products, medicines, and high-tech equipment. He had assisted those clients with, among other things, acquisitions, joint ventures, economic development incentives, and supply agreements.
Steve's technology clients were in automotive, health care, and other industries. He had helped those clients launch telematics and monitoring technologies, dealership management systems, electronic health record systems, cloud-based patient portals, and other software solutions.
