Will Barker concentrates his practice on intellectual property transactions. He helps draft and negotiate technology contracts and other commercial agreements, including confidentiality agreements, software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreements, software license agreements, and data sharing agreements. As part of his contracts work, Will advises large and small companies on protecting their intellectual property rights.
Will is an International Association of Privacy Professional (IAPP) Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E), which is described as Europe’s premier data protection certification.
He maintains a robust pro bono practice and was inducted into the 2023 North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society. Attorneys are inducted for providing 50 or more hours of free legal representation to individuals and small businesses with limited means.
Will earned his law degree from Campbell University, where he was recognized as a Dean's Excellence Academic Scholar. While in law school, Will was a member of the Lawyers & Leaders group and participated in several law-related internships. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Outside of work, Will can be found volunteering with his church or working on his family farm.
