Charlotte, N.C. – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Shalanna L. Pirtle has become certified as a mediator by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission, and she is excited to add this critical aspect of alternative dispute resolution to her existing employment law practice.
Mediation is an important tool that can be useful for parties in the resolution of all disputes, and it is needed now more than ever given the current backlog at courts around the country due to the impact of COVID-19. Effective mediation is about helping parties sort out their issues, needs, goals, and the ultimate root of the conflict. Shalanna has more than 13 years of experience helping a broad range of organizations solve their thorniest employment issues, as well as almost 20 years of professional experience as an employer and an employee, a manager and a team member, a business owner, an advisor, a communicator, and a problem-solver. Across the board, she has deep experience identifying key areas of dispute, building bridges to better understanding between parties, and helping them find common ground.
“I know firsthand from working with my clients the impact of effective alternative dispute resolution and am excited to grow this part of my practice,” Shalanna says. “I bring an uncommon perspective to this work in light of my varied professional and personal experiences. I look forward to working with parties to find resolution, no matter how big or small the dispute, with patience, empathy, creativity, and perseverance.”
Shalanna mediates disputes of varying subject matters at the state and federal levels, both before and during litigation.
