Charlotte, NC – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) has named Parker Poe a finalist for the Thomas L. Sager Award. The award highlights firms' commitments "to building a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive legal industry that benefits everyone," according to the MCCA.

The Sager Award has recognized law firms that are leaders in diversity and inclusion since 1999. The MCCA determines finalists and winners by analyzing quantitative and qualitative data from its survey of law firms' demographics, leadership composition, retention, promotion, and other practices. There are finalists and award winners for three categories: firms with more than 650 lawyers, firms with 251-650 lawyers, and labor and employment firms.

Parker Poe is among the 20 finalists for the second category. The MCCA will announce the award winners at its Diversity Gala on October 11 in New York City.

Parker Poe's diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts have also been highlighted this year in the Charlotte Business Journal. The journal recently named the firm's Chief Talent, Diversity & Inclusion Officer Shalanna Pirtle among its Power 100.
