Atlanta, GA — Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that Alonzo Llorens has been named to the national board of directors of the American Association of Blacks in Energy. Alonzo will continue to serve in his role as the AABE’s general counsel, a position he has filled on a pro bono basis since October 2022.
The AABE was founded in 1977. Today, it is a national association of energy professionals who work to ensure that energy policies are developed with the input of Black people and other minorities. The association also encourages the public and private sectors to be responsive to the problems and goals of Black people in energy-related fields, and it encourages Black students to pursue careers in those fields through scholarships and other financial aid. The association also promotes the interests of Black-owned companies in the energy sector.
At Parker Poe, Alonzo is a partner in the firm’s Atlanta office. He is committed to community service, including through roles with Leadership Atlanta and 100 Black Men of Atlanta. He currently serves as a board member of the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce and is a former board member for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. He’s also been recognized with the Atlanta Business League’s Men of Influence Award.
Alonzo focuses his legal practice on corporate law and represents clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies, including in energy-related fields. He focuses his corporate practice on capital markets and finance, mergers and acquisitions, securities compliance, corporate governance, minority business enterprise (MBE) certification, and structuring and navigating compliance with MBE transactions. He also has substantial experience advising clients in the sports and entertainment industry on corporate-related issues.
