Beth Morris and Reagan Sauls presented legal training to new special education administrators to ensure compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the state Board of Education rules for special education during the 2024 G-CASE Fall Conference.
Through the use of real-world examples, Beth and Reagan walked new administrators through legal cases, complaints, and disputes for all areas of special education. They used their more than 35 years of combined experience in the courtroom and classroom to help prepare new administrators for their roles.
Beth and Reagan also provided practical guidance on manifestation determinations under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) during this year's conference.
The conference also included Parker Poe attorneys providing insights into applied behavior analysis (ABA).
The Georgia Council of Administrators of Special Education (G-CASE) aims to promote professional leadership and study problems common to its members with the goal of improving services to children with special needs.
