Program Information:
Charlotte has a long and rich history of lawyers taking substantial roles of leadership in our community. In the past, citizens revered lawyers who were true pillars of our society. “Attorneys and Counselors at Law” had real meaning.

Today, lawyers are pressed for time. Demands abound and the billable hour is ever-present. Yet, at the same time, our community needs the participation, guidance and counseling of lawyers through volunteerism and civic involvement more than ever.

Please join our most distinguished panel, the Honorable Anthony Foxx, Mayor of Charlotte and Deputy General Counsel, Designline Corporation, Mr. E. Osborne Ayscue and Mr. William L. Rikard, Jr. as they discuss the historical role of lawyers in Mecklenburg County and the ever-growing need today for leadership and involvement of the members of the Bar as we renew our role as counselors to our community.

Speakers:
Anthony Foxx, Mayor of Charlotte
E. Osborne Ayscue Jr., McGuireWoods LLP
William L. Rikard, Jr., Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP
