Tasneem Dharamsi's practice covers the full suite of intellectual property services across patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, including enforcement, defense, preparation and prosecution, and counseling. Tasneem understands the symbiotic relationship between business and intellectual property. She takes the time to understand her clients' business goals and aims to be a true partner, adding value by providing highly tailored services.

Tasneem has significant experience in litigating complex patent cases in federal district courts around the country and representing patentees and patent challengers in post-grant proceedings at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) across numerous industries and technologies, including the mechanical, chemical, and pharmaceutical arts.

A registered patent attorney, Tasneem is licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and regularly prepares and pursues patent applications on behalf of her clients, both within the United States and abroad. Tasneem's skills in both litigation and prosecution provide her with a robust understanding of the commercial and legal practicalities of patent strategies.

Tasneem also has significant experience representing her clients in trademark infringement lawsuits and in proceedings at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). A substantial part of Tasneem's practice includes the preparation and pursuit of United States trademark registrations, portfolio management, and counseling.

In addition, Tasneem regularly serves as the IP lead in corporate transactions involving the purchase or sale of intellectual property assets and negotiates agreements on behalf of her clients.

Representative Experience

  • Defended power tool distributor in patent infringement cases in the Eastern District of Texas, achieving favorable settlement after bringing patentee to the table via a strategic motion for summary judgment.  
  • Represented generic pharmaceutical company in multiple Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) cases in federal district courts in Delaware, New York, New Jersey, West Virginia, and South Carolina; negotiated settlement terms cutting off the exclusivity period of the holder of a New Drug Application (NDA).
  • Successfully opposed third-party trademark registrations on behalf of a 3D imaging software company, preserving company's position in the market. 
  • Represented a Fortune 100 software-industrial company in an inter partes review proceeding involving patents related to an energy management system and method.
