Timothy Graham focuses his practice on telecommunications and government relations. He represents telecommunications companies on compliance issues before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), advising on spectrum management, broadband infrastructure, multichannel video programming distributor (MVPD) regulation, licensing, net neutrality, privacy, and artificial intelligence.
Timothy's government relations practice involves working with a broad range of companies on regulatory issues before other state and federal agencies. He is part of a team of federal government relations attorneys and consultants working to help clients navigate Congress, federal agencies, and the administration, with a particular focus on congressional investigations and executive branch advocacy. Timothy also advises clients on state and federal contracting and procurement issues.
Timothy's practice is informed by his experience working in the nation's capital, including for former U.S. Rep. G.K. Butterfield. Timothy served as legislative counsel to the congressman on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and advised him on issues related to the Congressional Black Caucus.
After the congressman retired, Timothy worked as vice president of external and state legislative affairs for a Washington, DC-based trade association that represents the broadband and cable television industries across the country. In that role, he led the association's outreach and policy education efforts with both national policy and advocacy organizations and national intergovernmental groups representing state legislators and local officials.
Timothy earned his law degree from Wake Forest University and his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
