Overview

Parker Poe's Raleigh office is located in the heart of the state's political, educational, and scientific activity. Raleigh and the cities of Durham and Chapel Hill make up the world-class business and research center, the Research Triangle. Home to one of the world's largest research parks and three major universities – Duke University, North Carolina State University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – the Research Triangle has been one of the fastest growing areas in the country, with more than 1.9 million residents from all over the world.

This area's economy consistently ranks among the best in the nation due in large part to multinational pharmaceutical, biotechnology, computerized technology, and software companies that blend with rapidly growing, technology-driven entrepreneurial companies. Parker Poe is pleased to include many of these outstanding companies, universities, and governmental agencies among its clients. The main industries that have created the strongest network and collaborative environment within the Triangle are life sciences, clean tech and smart grid, IT and technology, and advanced manufacturing. Parker Poe works to stay on the cutting edge, delivering the services these industries need to be successful and continue growing.

The thriving business community, bolstered by the political activity of the state capital in Raleigh, has solidified the Triangle's placement on many national business magazine lists as one of the best places to live and do business in the United States.

Local Attractions

The Triangle offers its residents many cultural opportunities, including theaters, galleries, dance and musical events, as well as extensive parks, greenways, and public athletic facilities. It is home to the North Carolina Symphony, the Carolina Ballet, as well as ACC, CIAA, and USA South universities that offer spirited athletic events. The Carolina Hurricanes, the region's only NHL franchise, won the state's first major professional title in the battle for the 2006 Stanley Cup.

In addition to the many attractions in the Triangle, its central location offers residents access to the Blue Ridge Mountains and the beautiful coastline of the Carolinas.

Community Involvement

Our attorneys are active in civic affairs, both as volunteers and in elected capacities throughout the greater Triangle area. From 2001 through 2011, Charles Meeker served as the mayor of the City of Raleigh. Russell Killen served as mayor of Knightdale from 2007 to 2015. In addition, the Raleigh office received the 2007 Pinnacle Business Award from the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. A Chamber executive noted, “The firms and its individuals continue to give back to the community year after year and that sets Parker Poe apart.”
