Business North Carolina Names 14 Parker Poe Attorneys Among 2025 Legal Elite

Charlotte, NC – Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein LLP is pleased to announce that 14 of its attorneys have been named among Business North Carolina magazine’s Legal Elite for 2025. Every North Carolina attorney has a chance to vote on the Legal Elite, resulting in a list the magazine describes as "the state’s best practitioners in their fields."

Approximately 3% of all practicing attorneys in the state were selected this year. Below are the Parker Poe attorneys and the categories in which they were recognized.

Bankruptcy

  • Brian Darer is a Raleigh partner and North Carolina State Bar board-certified specialist in business bankruptcy. He has successfully represented creditors in bankruptcies, foreclosures, and workouts.
     
  • Will Esser is a Charlotte partner and chair of the firm’s Financial Services Industry Team. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, foreclosures, loan workouts, and loan sales.
     
  • Chip Ford is a Charlotte partner who leads the firm’s Financial Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group. He represents institutional lenders, debt funds, commercial landlords, and other creditors in bankruptcy cases across the U.S.

Construction

  • Jason Herndon is a Raleigh partner who leads the firm’s Construction, Development & Condemnation Practice. He concentrates primarily in construction law, and advises on litigation, contract drafting and negotiation, dispute avoidance, and licensing issues.

Employment

  • Zack Anstett is a Raleigh associate who represents employers and municipalities in litigation and counsels them on employment agreements and best practices. 
     
  • Patti Bartis is a Raleigh partner who has defended employers facing discrimination claims and assisted them in complying with employment laws for more than 25 years. 
     
  • Tory Summey is a Charlotte partner who focuses on employment litigation defense and day-to-day counseling in industries such as higher education, health care, manufacturing, and local government.

Environmental

  • Amanda Kitchen Short is a Charlotte partner who has significant experience advising environmental clients across a wide spectrum of their legal needs.
     
  • Steve Weber is a Charlotte partner who has helped clients navigate the nuances of environmental law for more than 31 years.

Intellectual Property

  • Will Cannon is a Raleigh partner and leader of the firm’s Technology Industry Team. He helps clients negotiate technology contracts, develop innovative products, and safeguard their intellectual property rights. 
     
  • Eva Frongello is a Raleigh partner who helps clients capitalize on their intellectual property assets and develop innovative products in industries such as technology, sports and entertainment, and life sciences.

Litigation

  • Morgan Rogers is Parker Poe's Charlotte Office Development Partner. He helps clients resolve a wide spectrum of corporate disputes at trial or in negotiations beforehand.

Real Estate

  • Tim Logan is a Charlotte partner who advises companies and individuals in the acquisition, sale, development, leasing, and financing of commercial real estate.
     
  • Ashley Honeycutt Terrazas is a Raleigh associate who concentrates her practice on land use entitlements, site development, and permitting.
